(No cost. Lunch and snacks provided)
*NOTE: Special drop-off/pick-up time and location is required for Wednesday, July 26 for our all-day Cat Island Excursion. We will be traveling on a large research vessel operated by The University of Southern Mississippi. DROP-OFF: 9AM at Point Cadet Marina in Biloxi (119 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39530). PICK-UP: 4PM at Point Cadet Marina. Waivers for Cat Island will be distributed to students/caregivers prior to camp. We will work with students/guardians to accommodate any potential carpool needs.

Open to high school students on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
This four-day camp empowers students to help conceptualize, design, and build a large-scale public sculpture for Waveland, Mississippi as part of the Museum’s Public Art Enterprise program. Activities fuse together environment, recreation, STEM education, and community placemaking through activities that include: Excursion to Cat Island, Community-Engaged Design, Art Making, and Welding and Fabrication.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Waveland Public Art Enterprise fuses design, engineering, and environment to support community development and STEM education in Waveland, MS.
Over the course of 2023, high school students will lead the design and fabrication of a large-scale steel sculpture for Waveland, MS that celebrates local resilience and identity.
