About The Event

Join exhibiting artist Martha Kelly for a sketchbook workshop geared towards all skill levels that highlights the basic techniques and wonders of a timeless medium.

In this workshop, you can expect to learn about and test different sketching materials, view a variety of sketchbook samples from numerous artists, understand differences between a drawing-centric sketchbook, log book, gratitude journal, and even a food journal in visual form, and be guided through foundational techniques. With her unique perspective, Kelly will encourage individuals to draw inspiration from the surrounding subject matter to utilize sketching as a meditative practice that aids in memory and functions as a building block towards an overall better quality of life.

This workshop will meet in the Courtney Blossman Art Cottage located across the street from the Museum. Starter sketchbooks and basic materials will be provided along with the opportunity to explore with some of Martha's personal items. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sketching materials if they prefer.

Cost: $60 members | $75 non-members. Select materials provided.

This workshop is complementary to but not required for the artist's other sketchbook workshop, Sketching Outside with Martha Kelly.
