Drawing our Live Oaks Workshop with Jerrod Partridge

In this workshop, Jerrod Partridge will work with participants to use the practice of drawing from life to experience, learn from, and engage with the Live Oaks living around the Walter Anderson Museum of Art.  Various materials and observational techniques will be discussed to improve the students’ ability to capture the beauty of these trees. Jerrod Partridge is the guest curator for Majestic Visions: The Southern Live Oak, on display at WAMA from June 1st through November 24, 2024.

Participants should bring their preferred drawing materials, a sketch pad or board, and a folding chair.

Bio

Jerrod is a full-time studio artist while also teaching drawing and painting workshops. He has exhibited his work in Japan, Italy, and across the United States. Jerrod and his wife Jessie own and run Palmette, a flower shop and art gallery located in the Springs Hotel in downtown Ocean Springs.…
